Librarian - Geographic Adaptive Technologies
Indiana University Northwest John Anderson Library, 3400 Broadway, Gary, Indiana 46408. Geographic/Adaptive Technology and Instruction Librarian. This Assistant tenure track Librarian position will oversee the GIS (geographic information systems) Data Center and Adaptive Technology Center in the John Anderson Library. Additional responsibilities include support of the expanding general education information literacy program through instruction presentations and modules for face to face and online classes. This librarian will have Information Commons (Reference) Help Desk and subject discipline collections development responsibilities. Successful candidate will serve on the Library's New Media Committee and be knowledgeable about academic library community engagement activities. The library faculty member will have professional development/research and professional service responsibilities. Required: ALA accredited Master's degree. Full consideration if materials completed by March 25, 2013, but search will remain open until position filled. Preferred: Knowledge and experience with GIS mapping software, demographic data, adaptive technology software, teaching library of instruction sessions, working at an academic library Reference Desk, supervision of staff, emerging media in libraries, grantseeking, and community engagement.
