Bennett College, 'FUN'Raising for "Students First" Campaign

Bennett College is putting the "fun" back in fundraising with its "Students First" Campaign where the first 100 people to donate $192.60 will automatically receive a gift of gratitude. Looking to impact the total living and learning experience for each student, Bennett will run the campaign until the last day of the fiscal year on June 30, 2012.

"This funding is specifically about putting our students first. We're looking to increase scholarship dollars so that more young women can know the nurturing environment that is Bennett College; we're looking to provide additional funding for stronger academic programing so that our students are ready to compete in the 21st Century workplace; and we're looking to establish a rock solid financial footing so that we may continue to build stronger prospects for present and future Bennett Belles to come," said Tony Neal, vice president of Institutional Advancement.

According to Audrey Franklin, director of alumnae affairs, giving to "Students First" is a great way for the alumnae to contribute to a cause that is near and dear to their hearts, supporting their Bennett sisters. "Bennett stands on the shoulders of an outstanding alumnae-base. So many of them ask for ways to give back to the students specifically, and I think "Students First" is the perfect opportunity for them to do just that." Franklin added that any alumna who meets this challenge will go beyond what is expected of her annual gift and is fully eligible for the gift given to the first 100 donors.

"The gift is our way of offering a little competitive fun while also showing that Bennett College appreciates the extra support," Neal said. The unusual donation amount pays homage to the College's instillation as a woman's institution in 1926.

Donations can be easily made online at www.bennett.edu by clicking on Give Now. Donors are advised to select "DON Students First" under the designation of donation. All other donations can be mailed to Bennett College, Office of Institutional Advancement, 900 E. Washington St., Greensboro, NC 27401. Any questions can be directed to 336-517-2248.
