Author of "No Greatness without Goodness" to Lecture & Sign Books at Cheyney University on November 10
Randy Lewis, past vice president of Walgreens and author of "No Greatness without Goodness", will give a lecture at Cheyney University on  Monday, November 10, as part of the 2014-2015 Arts and Lectures Series.  The free program will be held in the Marian Anderson Music Center at 1:30 pm.  The event is presented in collaboration with the Chester County Workforce Investment Board.

Lewis' entertaining and inspiring message emphasizes that each person needs to be a change agent for the good and that each of us underestimates our power to make a difference.  He has spoken internationally and lectured at leading business schools, reminding audiences of the awesome responsibility of leadership in today's world.

Believing that people with disabilities could do more, Lewis pioneered a disability employment model in Walgreens distribution centers that resulted in 10% of its workforce consisting of people with disabilities. This employment innovation is changing the lives of thousands and serving as a model for other employers in the United States and abroad. It is presently being replicated at companies including  Proctor & Gamble, Lowes, Best Buy and UPS.

As a visionary of disability employment advocacy, Lewis continues to be active in building better leaders and helping business play a broader role in the common good. He describes himself as a Peace Corps volunteer, Arthur Murray dance instructor, Ernst and Young partner, Fortune 50 senior executive and accidental advocate. Before retiring in 2013 as Senior Vice President, he led Walgreens' logistics division for 16 years as the chain grew from 1,500 to 8,000 stores with the most advanced logistics network in its industry.

"No Greatness Without Goodness" is the story of how one father changed a company and launched a movement. It details what led him to attempt something that had never been attempted anywhere in the world and how he was able to enlist the help of hundreds to make it a reality. Copies of the book will be available for purchase following the lecture and the author will be available to sign copies. Proceeds from book sales will benefit the continuation of the Arts and Lectures Series at Cheyney University.
