Trenholm State Community College is sponsoring its second Career Expo on February 25th, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., in the Student Center (Building D) on the Trenholm campus located at 1225 Air Base Boulevard.  Representatives from the private sector, government, and non-profit organizations will be looking to fill open positions and add new jobs.  Businesses and organizations represent a wide range of fields, and employers include Aerotek, Alabama Career Center, Alabama Department of Corrections, State of Alabama Personnel Department, Baptist Health, Bluewater Broadcasting, Capitol Hill Health Care, Extra Help, Firebirds Grill, Imperial Mailbox Systems, Jackson Hospital, John Knox Manor, Montgomery City and County Personnel, Montgomery Fire Department, Renaissance Hotel & Spa, Spherion Staffing, Maxwell Air Force Base Exchange, Wind Creek Casino, among others.

Individuals planning to attend the Expo should prepare by having an updated version of their résumé, develop a short elevator speech in order to introduce themselves to prospective employers, and dress appropriately.  "Individuals should come prepared to make the strongest connection possible," said Maria Richardson, coordinator of job placement and follow-up.  "Research the companies prior to the Expo, use your time wisely, dress professionally to make a great and lasting impression, and follow up with employers."  Richardson added, "the more employers you meet with, the more connections you make, the greater your chances for success.  This Expo is open to students, alumni, and the general public."

The Expo is sponsored by the Career Center at Trenholm State Community College.  The Center is dedicated to providing career education training, counseling, and assessments that will lead to a successful career path.  The Center offers students and alumni the opportunity to participate in activities and workshops throughout the academic year.  Career planning assistance and job placement services are available to all students and alumni.  For more information about the Career Expo, contact Maria Richardson at (334) 420-4499.
