Greetings Members,
I trust you're well. The Board of Directors is pleased to announce the launch of the Building Capacity Fundraising Campaign! As you know, the HBCU Library Alliance was awarded a $365,000, five-year one-to-one matching challenge grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities. The HBCU Library Alliance must raise $365,000 to meet the financial requirement of the grant. The program is designed to build capacity for the long-term preservation and conservation of collections at member libraries and to strengthen library staffs in collection stewardship and fundraising for collection care initiatives. Follow this link http://hbculibraries.org/humanities-2019.html for more information.
To date $88,500.00 has been raised and the Board is reaching into their personal and foundation contacts for matching funds.
December 3rd is Giving Tuesday and we invite you to join us in this campaign to strengthen our community. Follow this link http://hbculibraries.org/ and click on the Donate Now button to invest in this very important initiative. You may also mail your donation to Executive Director Phoenix at the address below. The Facebook and Twitter pages contain information and a flyer about this project for you to share with your contacts.
If you'd like to get involved directly with fundraising, please contact me or Mrs. Phoenix to learn more. Let's work together to raise matching funds for the Building Capacity project!
Sincerely,
Monika Rhue (Nooma)
