Alabama A&M University News August 2013 New Dashboard Improves A&M Data Retrieval Process The Office of Institutional Research and Planning (OIRP) at Alabama A&M University has developed a new method to make getting and displaying certain statistical data a little easier. Dianne Bozeman, an OIRP research analyst, says its new 'dashboard' provides a user friendly and more visually appealing way to access AAMU's most recent statistical data. Developed within the framework of Microsoft Excel software, the dashboard could prove to be an important resource for administrators, faculty, staff, students and other decision makers, Bozeman notes. The dashboard, to be launched soon and made accessible from OIRP's webpage, will offer general 2012 statistical data, such as enrollment trends for AAMU's various colleges and information on student credit hours, and it will provide a link to the main fact book document. And, although the fact book publishes the institution's comprehensive, statistical DNA, Bozeman says the dashboard, too, will ultimately expand to report and chart that data. Bozeman adds that the dashboard's ease of use and creation could allow it to become part of specific colleges' efforts to present their own unique features and items of statistical significance.
