HU receives $800,000 from Parker Hannifin to establish endowed scholarship
Parker Hannifin, a mobile, industrial and aerospace engineering manufacturer, donated $800,000 to the Hampton University School of Business for an endowed scholarship.
According to Dr. Sid H. Credle, dean of the HU School of Business, Parker Hannifin is a valued partner of the School of Business. "Parker Hannifin has always supported the School of Business and the Leadership Application Program," said Credle. "These funds will help us continue to support our students."
HU Business students are equipped with leadership, technological and analytical skills that are necessary for success in today's evolving business industry. Students are molded to become leaders and scholars who will assume pivotal roles in academic and business organizations.
On Oct. 10, Parker Hannifin associates visited HU and had an opportunity to meet with students in the five-year MBA program. Associates began the day with a campus tour and concluded the day in a Leadership Application Program (LAP) seminar.
Parker Hannifin, a $13 billion global company, believes that its future growth is assured by honoring its tradition of excellence. They have found precision at HU that matches their mission. Executives noted at the seminar that Hamptonians match Parker Hannifin's prescription of what an undergraduate student should embody.
"We have developed real relationships and real friendships with the associates at Parker Hannifin," said Credle. "We truly appreciate the gift and look forward to seeing its affect in the lives of our students."
