Greetings Colleagues,
I trust you're well.  Today I'm celebrating Dr. Clarence S. Greene, who in 1953 became the first African-American certified in neurological surgery. Born on December 26, 1901 in Washington, D.C., Dr. Greene received his M.D. with distinction in 1936 from the Howard University College of Medicine. His achievements have opened the door for subsequent African-Americans to enhance the field of neurosurgery.
Title: Overview: The Six Domains Leadership Model
Date: Tuesday, October 29, 2:00 - 3:00 ET
Instructor: Dr. Flavia Eldemire, Allen University

The Six Domains model was developed by Sim Sitkin and Allan Lind of Delta Leadership.  The model is drawn from scientific research in social psychology, sociology, political science, anthropology, and organizational behavior. Participants will be introduced to a research basis model of leadership and learn how to use it in their everyday experiences as a leader.  The model will build on participants' current knowledge and past experiences of leadership by providing instruction on how, beginning with their own innate strengths, they can develop solid and enduring leadership behaviors.

Learning Outcomes

Participants will:

  • Gain exposure to a dynamic leadership model to undergird their current knowledge and training in effective leadership

  • Explore how specific leadership behaviors and their corresponding effects can impact their ability to effectively lead themselves and others

  • Enhance their leadership toolkit by understanding the fundamentals of the Six Domains approach which provides a concrete and comprehensive framework for understanding and improving leadership skills and effectiveness.
