I trust you're well.  On Friday and Saturday, October 4 and 5, Board Chair Monika Rhue and I attended the Steering Committee meeting for the Rare Book Schools' Mellon Fellowship for Diversity, Inclusion and Cultural Heritage in Charlottesville, VA. This fellowship program aims to advance multicultural collections through innovative and inclusive leadership.

HBCUs should be represented in this program.  I encourage you to review the materials and, if appropriate, submit an application. Please share this messaging among your contacts.

The Rare Book School was recently awarded a $1.5M Andrew W. Mellon Foundation grant to support the Mellon Foundation's Fellowship for Diversity, Inclusion and Cultural Heritage. Forty-five fellows will be accepted into this program; application finish-line is December 2, 2019.
