Shaw Implements Cost Saving Measures
Shaw University Interim President Dr. Gaddis Faulcon announced a series of cost saving measures aimed at enhancing efficiency and balancing the University's budget. When implemented, these measures will save the University nearly $2 million over the next year.
A first step in the President's previously announced process optimization effort, the measures will include the elimination of vacant positions, restructuring contracts and limited personnel reductions. The cost savings will allow the University to achieve fiscal stability, quantifiable improvement and growth across all campus departments.
"We want to not just survive, but thrive and we can only do so by continuously examining our internal processes to determine how we can be more effective," said Faulcon. "These are challenging times for institutions like Shaw, but we will continue to scrutinize every dollar spent to ensure we are doing our best to uphold our mission and provide an academic environment that allows our students to succeed."
