Dedication Ceremony Planned for Historic Nat King Cole House

The Nat King Cole Society, along with Alabama State University, will dedicate a historical marker honoring the celebrated singer and jazz pianist, Nat King Cole, on Friday, July 31.

The invitation-only event will take place at the historic Nat King Cole House, which is located on ASU's campus (next to The ASU Stadium).

On Saturday, August 1, ASU's WVAS-FM radio station, along with the Nat King Cole Society, will host the inaugural Nat King Cole Jazz Festival at 4 p.m. at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival Garden. Tickets to the festival are $20 for adults and $1 for children ages 12 and under. Tickets can be purchased at Heritage Barber Shop (Carter Hill Road), Filet & Vine (Cloverdale Road), Another Chance Package Store (Central Parkway) and Ted the Wine Guy (Zelda Road).
