Greetings Colleagues,

I trust you're well. I'm excited to share news that a librarian from Fort Valley State University (GA) will intern with the Alliance.  Shaundra Walker approached Board Chair Fayoyin about an internship and the Alliance is the perfect fit for her interests. Shaundra is pursuing a PhD in Educational Leadership with a concentration in Higher Education Administration from Mercer University.  Her research interest is in HBCU library leadership and organizational development.

Shaundra has worked in libraries and higher education since 2001. For the past three and a half years, she has served as a professional librarian at the Henry A. Hunt Memorial Library at Fort Valley State University (GA).

Mary Jo and I had a delightful conversation with Shaundra sharing the history, accomplishments and challenges of the Alliance. In addition to learning more about the Alliance's significant work in support of HBCU libraries, Shaundra will assist with a data gathering project.

I'm excited about this opportunity and look forward to working with Shaundra!

Respectfully,

Sandra
