Alcorn's Cora S. Balmat School of Nursing named on U. S. News & World Report’s Best Online Master’s in Nursing Programs list

Alcorn State University’s Cora S. Balmat School of Nursing is recognized as one of the nation’s top online master’s degree programs.
The School is listed on the 2021 U. S. News & World Report Best Online Master’s in Nursing Programs list. Alcorn offers an online Master of Science in Nursing: Family Nurse Practitioner and a Master of Science of Nursing: Nurse Educator (NE).
The School has a proud tradition of graduating competent, caring, and professional nurses who make a difference in their communities and beyond. Since its inception in 1977, the School has produced many nurses who have found success in various health care positions.
The School also offers a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program, which is the first doctorate program to be offered at Alcorn in school history.
The DNP program offers a full-time progression option to graduates of the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) master's degree program. The program requires 36 credit hours to be completed in five semesters of continuous enrollment. It also provides advanced education in evidence-based practice, quality improvement, healthcare systems, evaluation of practice models, and health policy.
