Dillard to Host 9th Annual Housing and Home Improvement Fair - Road Home representatives to provide updates for residents still needing assistance

On Saturday, September 26, 2015, Dillard University's Office of Community Relations will host its ninth annual Housing and Home Improvement Fair on Dillard's campus in the Professionals Schools Building. The housing fair will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free and the event is open to the public.

The event's co-sponsors include AARP, Capital One Bank, New Orleans Metropolitan Association of Realtors, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Entergy New Orleans, First NBC, Liberty Bank, Regions Bank, and Bayou Title, to name a few.

Over 65 exhibitors will participate in the Fair. Workshop series will cover such topics as obtaining a Disadvantage Business Enterprise (DBE) Certification; foreclosure options; obtaining a contractor's license; applying for 501 c (3) non-profit business status; credit report repair; and grant funding for homeowners, and more. Representatives from Road Home will also be on site to update residents about opportunities available for individuals still needing assistance in restoring their homes that were damaged as a result of Hurricane Katrina.

"This event gives local residents the opportunity to meet business representatives in a casual setting that provides valuable information about homeownership as well as business opportunities from reliable sources," said Nick Harris, director of Dillard University Office of Community Relations.
