HBCU Library Alliance Live On-Line Continuing Education Class

Class Title: Standardization 101: Accreditation and Accountability
Instructor: Pauletta Bracy, Director, Office of University Accreditation, North Carolina Central University
Description: This 60-minute distance learning session covers accreditation practices among professional and specialized and regional accrediting agencies with a focus on implications for librarians.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this class, participants will be able to:
§ Discuss the benefits and values of accreditation.
§ Distinguish between the roles of specialized and regional accreditation.
§ Interpret standard language to attain compliance.
§ Identify appropriate documentation to support responses to standards.
Intended Audience:
Librarians who have responsibility for working with academic and administrative units in specialized and regional accreditation endeavors.
Class Size: 50 participants
This course is designed for individual participation; each individual must register.
