Dr. Ruth Crawford will be inducted into the National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame
A retired educator will be recognized for her outstanding achievements in the field of community service and her alma mater.
Dr. Ruth Crawford will be inducted into the Class of 2011 National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame. She is a Paine College graduate with a Bachelors Degree in Education and an Honorary Doctorate of Human Letter from Paine College. She also has a Master of Science Degree in Education from Indiana University. As a retired Richmond County teacher, Crawford was surprised at this honor.
Dr. Ruth Crawford, National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame Inductee-"I did not expect this from my college. I really just felt happy. Very good because this is a high honor and to be representing Paine College is even a higher honor for me."
Dr. Crawford has received a number of awards during her career as well as being recognized by local and state dignitaries. She will be inducted at the annual Hall of Fame signature ceremony in Atlanta, Georgia on September 23, 2011.
