Faculty Highlights and Accomplishments
Kudos to our outstanding faculty colleagues! Brandeis Marshall
The National Science Foundationhttp://click.icptrack.com/icp/relay.php?r=40290422&msgid=756147&act=DUHZ&c=519201&destination=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nsf.gov%2Fawardsearch%2FshowAward%3FAWD_ID%3D1547714%26HistoricalAwards%3Dfalse has awarded grants to Spelman and Morehouse colleges for a collaborative project to design a dual-institution center in socially relevant computing. The center will provide interdisciplinary education, research, and workforce development for African-American undergraduate computer science students, especially those at risk of not completing their degree. The goal of the project is to increase African-American representation in graduate schools and STEM jobs. The grants total nearly $300,000 for both colleges.

Dr. Marshall's scholarly objectives are two-fold: scholarly pursuits in data management and positively impact diversity and outreach initiatives. Her research interests lie in business intelligence (data analysis, information retrieval, data mining) and social media.
