The center will provide interdisciplinary education, research, and workforce development for African-American undergraduate computer science students, especially those at risk of not completing their degree. The goal of the project is to increase African-American representation in graduate schools and STEM jobs. The grants total nearly $300,000 for both colleges. Dr. Marshall's scholarly objectives are two-fold: scholarly pursuits in data management and positively impact diversity and outreach initiatives.
