Clifford "T.I." Harris Jr. to Speak at Rock The Lyceum
North Carolina Central University's http://www.nccu.edu/index.cfm Rock the Lyceum Lecture Series returns for a special Eagle Preview edition on Saturday, March 30, at 5 p.m. featuring Clifford "T.I" Harris Jr., award-winning hip-hop artist, actor and producer. The event in McDougald-McLendon Arena is free and open to the public. Doors open at 4 p.m.
An Atlanta native, Harris is CEO of Grand Hustle Records and has released seven top-five albums on the U.S. Billboard 200 Chart. He is the star of VH1's reality TV series "T.I. and Tiny Family Hustle" and BET's "The Grand Hustle."
Harris is an activist on social issues surrounding race relations and civil and human rights. In response to racial inequality and frequent murders of unarmed black citizens, he created the Us or Else movement, penning a series of thought-provoking editorials for the New York Times, Washington Post and Huffington Post. His most recent philanthropic work has been focused on hurricane relief efforts for Puerto Rico and Houston, Texas, and Colin Kaepernick's Million Dollar Challenge to provide assistance to struggling neighborhoods.
