Greetings Colleagues,

Join me in welcoming David Clendinning to West Virginia State University and the HBCU Library Alliance. David is the new director of the Drain-Jordan Library.

He received a BA with honors from Samford University in Birmingham, AL, and his Master's degree in librarianship from Columbia University in New York City. David has been in library public service and administrative roles for over a quarter of a century. His career has featured strong emphases in staff training, organizational development, and customer service.

David worked in Circulation, Government Documents, and Reference functions at Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL from 1990 to 2006, and was head of the Reference and Research Department for many years.  He then became the Associate Director at the State University of New York at Oswego (2006-2010).

He is a member of the West Virginia Library Association, the American Library Association, where he serves as list manager for the Library Administration and Management Association's organizational development listserv, and the Association of College and Research Libraries.

We wish David success in his new position and look forward to his involvement in HBCU Library Alliance activities.
