SARA Launches Domestic Violence Awareness Campaign
A DSU student allows a hand design to be drawn in which a domestic violence awareness message is written.
The DSU Sexual Assault Response Advocates (SARA) launched their new campaign "All Hands in to Combat Domestic Violence at Delaware State University" during an Oct. 19 event in the MLK Student Center.
SARA has initiated the campaign in conjunction with the DSU Office of Counseling to promote domestic violence awareness on campus.
"Through this awareness campaign it is our hope that DSU students understand the importance of combating domestic violence and overcoming the statistics," said Malcolm L. Washington, SARA member.
Mr. Washington also said that the campaign also highlighted the need to utilize the resources that Delaware State University offers in hopes of having victims speak up and having advocates STAND alongside those who may be affected.
