Hinds Community College October 11, 2013 Hinds CC named as 'Military Friendly School' Hinds Community College, the largest Mississippi community college, is one of seven community colleges to be named to the Military Friendly Schools(r) list by Victory Media, the premier media entity for military personnel transitioning into civilian life. Among the criteria used in the selection process are military support on campus, academic credibility, percent of military students, student tuition assistance among other categories. "We're using innovative strategies and trying to cut down on red tape so it's easier on students to come here," said Ryan Braswell, coordinator of Veterans Services. "Having a full-time person to manage the transition for service members has helped tremendously."
