Harris-Stowe State University Hosts Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. State Celebration Commission of Missouri Kick-off Program

WHO:                        The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. State Celebration of Missouri Commissioners; keynote speaker: Honorable Emanuel Cleaver, U.S. Representative of the state's 5th Congressional district; this year's distinguished honorees:  Attorney Michael A. Middleton, Distinguished Drum Major for Justice Award; Rx Outreach, Distinguished Nonprofit Corporate Award; A.T. Still University, Distinguished Public Service Award and Ferguson Youth Initiative, Distinguished Service to Youth Award; and Three Distinguished Community Service Awardees - Beyond Housing, Friendly Temple Missionary Baptist Church and Myrtle Hilliard Davis Comprehensive Health Centers, Inc.

WHAT:                      For the past 30 years, Harris-Stowe State University has hosted an event each January to launch the observance of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. federal holiday.
