Tuskegee University News April 6, 2020 Three Tuskegee alumni among Savoy magazine’s 2020 ‘top black execs’ in America Savoy, a leading African American business and lifestyle magazine, has included three Tuskegee University alumni among its list of the 2020 “Most Influential Black Executives in Corporate America.” This list of African American executives, influencers and achievers is part of the magazine’s Spring issue, released on March 31 and now available at SavoyNetwork.com and newsstands worldwide. “Savoy<http://savoynetwork.com/> is proud to present the 2020 Most Influential Black Executives in Corporate America. In this issue, we assembled an elite representation of African American men and women who have been recognized for their executive and business leadership in national and global-leading corporations,” said L.P. Green II, Savoy’s. “These innovative trailblazers have led efforts to foster growth for some of the country's highest-performing companies throughout and beyond the U.S. market.” Tuskegee’s three alumni ranking among the 253 most influential black executives in corporate America for 2020 include: Gregory S. Nixon<http://savoynetwork.com/features/gregory-s-nixon-3/> oversees DynCorp International’s global operations as its chief administrative officer, chief legal officer and corporate secretary. Based in McLean, Virginia, the company provides aviation, logistics, training, intelligence and operational solutions the world over. A decorated retired Air Force officer and licensed patent attorney, Nixon earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Tuskegee in 1985 and currently serves as a member of its Board of Trustees. Patrick Smith<http://savoynetwork.com/features/patrick-smith/> is the executive vice president and head of financial wellness and strategy at Cleveland, Ohio-based KeyBank. In this role, Smith is accountable for the design and acceleration of the holistic Financial Wellness experience across all Key channels and products, shapes how Key uses data and insights to help its clients, and drives a differentiated Wellness experience every day. He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Tuskegee. Barron M. Witherspoon Sr.<http://savoynetwork.com/features/barron-witherspoon-sr/> serves as Procter & Gamble’s global vice president for industry affairs and its Corporate Race Initiative. Recently tapped as executive leader for the Corporate Race Initiative, his role is to build a coalition to “define, declare and demonstrate the specific role corporations should play in improving racial equity in America.” In Industry Affairs, he leads P&G’s external interface with trade associations and thought leaders impacting public policy and industry standards. Currently second vice chair of the university’s Board of Trustees, he earned a bachelor’s degree in economics in 1985. The selection of the “Most Influential Black Executives in Corporate America” begins by examining the landscape of spheres of influence impacting Savoy's readership, including corporate sector influence, scholastic achievement, career growth, community outreach and recognition. The information received from over 500 prospective candidates in diverse fields was pre-screened by its selection committee. After reviewing all the submitted profiles, the selection committee narrowed the field of candidates to the magazine’s final listing based upon their exemplary record of accomplishments and influence while working to better their community and inspire others.
