Subject: Director's Dialogue - Wednesday, March 15th, 10:00 ET
Greetings Colleagues,
I trust you're well. Today I'm celebrating Dr. Carter G. Woodson. In 1915 Woodson founded the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History, now the Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH). The association was created to promote and preserve African-American history and culture. He founded the Journal of Negro History in 1916. Woodson lobbied schools and organizations to participate in a special program to encourage the study of African American history, which began in February 1926 with Negro History Week and was later expanded and renamed Black History Month. He spent his life investigating, documenting and publishing African-American history.
Director's Dialogue: Ten-at-Ten
The next Ten-at-Ten is scheduled for Wednesday, March 15th, 10:00 - 10:15 ET. Using the Adobe Connect software, I'll update you on the activities of the HBCU Library Alliance and respond to your chat items.
