Harris-Stowe Goes Green with Energy Fair

ST. LOUIS, MO (March 30, 2012) - Harris-Stowe State University will host
its first energy fair on April 4, in the Emerson Performance Center from
1-4 p.m.. The event, which is sponsored by AmerenUE, is a collaborative
effort with Recyclemania, which is a friendly competition among college
and university recycling programs in North America and Canada.

During eight weeks each spring, schools compete to reduce waste,
increase recycling and raise awareness of conservation issues across
campus. The fair is free and open to the public, and will showcase the
recycling practices within companies such as Ameren Missouri, Blue Skies
Recycling, the City of St. Louis Recycling Program, Fuller Sales,
Laclede Gas Company, Midwest Recycling Company, Missouri Botanical
Gardens, St. Louis Community College, St. Louis University, Midwest
Waste Company and many others.

"We are excited to bring this type of event to our students and to the
St. Louis community," said Benny Lewis, university campus sustainability
chairperson. "It is our goal to raise awareness of the importance of
conserving energy, while making a conscious effort to recycle such
things as office paper, newspaper, plastic bottles, computers, and
reduce the amount of trash going to landfills.

Harris-Stowe State University, located in midtown St. Louis, is a

Accounting, Business Administration, Biology, Criminal Justice, Early
