West Virginia State University Gives Back to Kanawha Valley with Cares Day
More than 500 West Virginia State University (WVSU) students, staff, faculty and alumni spent Saturday giving back to the Kanawha Valley through the University's annual Cares Day.
This day of community service in Kanawha and Putnam counties saw volunteer work teams fanout to more than 40 work sites in the area.
Volunteers performed a variety of different types of activities including: washing animals and walking dogs at the Kanawha-Charleston Humane Association; cleaning and organizing at the West Virginia Institute for Spirituality; cleaning and painting at Anne Bailey Elementary in St. Albans; and organizing donations at the Mountain Mission.
