Concordia to hold Civil Rights Symposium

In order to honor the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights Movement, Concordia will hold its third annual Civil Rights Symposium on March 1-8, 2015. The week-long symposium will be in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of the 1965 Selma-Montgomery civil rights marches, and aims to celebrate those who participated in the original marches as well as those who continue to work towards unity and equality in the present day.

Members of the Selma and surrounding communities as well as any visiting guests are invited to attend the symposium. Events will include a Leadership & Civil Rights seminar, special presentations by former leaders of the Civil Rights Movement, a presentation by the Ambassadors of Reconciliation, discussion panels, church services, and much more.

No registration is necessary for this event and the cost is free. All events will be located on the Concordia College Campus and anyone who wishes to attend is welcome.
