Missouri Governor Appoints New Member to Harris-Stowe Board
ST. LOUIS, MO (June 12, 2012) - Harris-Stowe State University is pleased
to announce the recent appointment of Reginald Dickson, the newest
addition to the university's Board of Regents. Regent Dickson will be
sworn in by the Honorable Jimmie Edwards, 22nd Circuit, Division 30, at
10 a.m. during the next board meeting on June 19, 2012, in the Dr. Henry
Givens Jr. Administration Building.
Dickson, an alumnus of Harris-Teachers College, is one of the founders
of Buford, Dickson, Harper & Sparrow Inc., (BDHS) and serves as the
firm's chairperson, a principal and a member of the investment
committee. His Fortune 500 board experience spans more than 33 years and
includes serving on the board of directors of the audit committee of
Dollar General Corporation and as board chairman at Regions Bank
Community Development Corporation. Currently, he serves on the board of
Huntington Preferred Capital Inc.
Dickson has cultivated civic relationships statewide and within St.
Louis as a board member of several organizations such as the American
Red Cross, United Way, the African-American Business Leadership Council
(AABLC) at Harris-Stowe, Boy Scouts of America and the Small Business
Advisory Council for the Federal Communications Commission, and is
founder of the Black Leadership Roundtable.
Most notably, Dickson is the retired president and CEO of Inroads Inc.,
a national minority career development organization. His volunteerism
has garnered him the American Red Cross' Charles R. Drew Award and the
Salvation Army's William Booth Award. Dickson continues to be active in
the cultural fabric of St. Louis.
Harris-Stowe State University, located in midtown St. Louis, is a

Accounting, Business Administration, Biology, Criminal Justice, Early
