DILLARD UNIVERSITY NAMES DIRECTORS IN INSTUTIONAL ADVANCEMENT

Dillard University continues its commitment to excellence by welcoming two new members to the Division of Institutional Advancement: David M. Grubb, Director of Communications & Marketing, and El Cabrel Lee, Director of Development. They are both charged with expanding the reach of university's awareness and widening its fundraising base.
Marc A. Barnes, Vice President for Institutional Advancement, said he is excited by the additions to the team. "Mr. Grubb will provide excellent leadership in our efforts to ensure that everyone in the world knows about the excellent education provided at Dillard University," Barnes said.  He added that the university has made great strides in increasing private giving over the past few years. "Mr. Lee will help us build on that, particularly as it relates to alumni giving," Barnes said.
David Grubb has been a communications and public relations professional for nearly 17 years. After graduating from Wake Forest University in 1997, he launched his career in front of the camera; first as a reporter for KLAX-TV in Alexandria, La., then at a WGGB-TV in Springfield, Mass.  From there he returned to his native New Orleans, where he worked in political communications on several local and state campaigns. He also served as account executive and lead copywriter with Beuerman Miller Fitzgerald, one of the city's top advertising/public relations agencies.
In 2006, Grubb was named Director of Communications for the Algiers Charter School Association (ACSA), one of the largest charter management organizations in Louisiana. His successful tenure there led to him taking the same position with the Louisiana Department of Education in 2008. Since leaving state government in 2009, Mr. Grubb has worked as an independent communications consultant, focusing primarily on non-profit organizations. From 2012 to 2013, he was Director of Communications and the Sports Information Director for Southern University at New Orleans. Since 2014 he has worked as the Sports Information Director for the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference, as a regular contributor to SportsNOLA.com and as a host on WBOK radio.
El Cabrel Lee is a fund development professional with 17 years of executive level experience in strategic planning and resource development. Lee, a graduate of Clark Atlanta University, has generated over $17,000,000 in funding for various United Way programs and private and public institutions. Prior to joining the Office of Development, Lee was the statewide coordinator for the Louisiana 2-1-1 community information and referral service that connected five independent centers to work as a statewide system. Lee served as the lead government liaison for the Seminole County Health Department in Florida, where he leveraged funding and spearheaded the development of the Office of Men's Health.  He also served as the Director of Community Relations and Resource Development for the Early Learning Coalition of Orange County, Florida, where he was responsible for the direction and execution of three annual signature educational projects and several fundraising campaigns that raised millions of dollars for Early Childhood Education and literacy initiatives.
Lee is an Illinois native, who is actively involved in several civic and community organizations, including but not limited to: Under the Scope Foundation, C.L.A.S.S. Inc., the Greater New Orleans Alumni Chapter for C.A.U. and the Bridge Builder Foundation.
