AFROTC Scholarships Available for Current Students

ASU's Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) Detachment 019 is offering eligible ASU students an opportunity to compete for several scholarships worth up to $18,000 annually plus textbook allowances and monthly stipends.

Detachment 019 has several In-college Scholarships available for students who already are enrolled in college. Students are eligible to compete for these scholarships once they have completed at least one year of AFROTC.

AFROTC is traditionally a four-year program; however, juniors and seniors are now eligible to take advantage of a new two-year program this year.

Students must act quickly to apply for the two-year program before fall registration ends. Currently, this is the only year the two-year program will be offered.

The AFROTC In-college Scholarships pay college tuition and most fees up to $18,000 per academic year, as well as provide textbook allowances. Scholarship students also receive a monthly stipend (currently $300 for freshmen, $350 for sophomores, $450 for juniors and $500 for seniors).

Eligibility
To be eligible to compete for one of the AFROTC In-college Scholarships, a student must have a minimum 2.5 term GPA/3.0 cumulative GPA and pass the Air Force Physical Fitness Assessment, medical assessment, and the Air Force Officer Qualifying Test (AFOQT).

Students also are able to compete for other AFROTC scholarships; however, these scholarships require a minimum 1100 SAT score or 24 ACT score, in addition to the eligibility criteria list above.

About ASU's AFROTC
AFROTC Detachment 019 is located on the campus of Alabama State University. Students attending ASU, Auburn University at Montgomery, Faulkner University, Huntingdon College and Troy University at Montgomery are eligible to join the program and compete for AFROTC scholarships.

For more information, contact Alabama State University's AFROTC Detachment 019 at 334-229-7756 or 334-229-4305.
