Dear Colleagues

This month we celebrate Black History Month and the theme this year is: "Black Women in American Culture and History" which honors African American women and the myriad roles they played in the shaping of our nation. The theme, chosen by the Association for the Study of African American Life and History urges all Americans to study and reflect on the value of their contribution to the nation.

As an African American Women working in an HBCU Library I am pleased to be a part of the HBCU Library Alliance as our mission is to: "promote collaboration of information professionals and excellence in library leadership and services to enhance member resources and programs" in pursuit of our vision which is: "to be the leader in preserving and promoting the history and missions of the White House designated Historically Black Colleges and their libraries".

I look forward to seeing everyone at the Membership meeting later this year in New Orleans.

Happy Black History Month Everyone!
