When three-time-Grammy Award winning Hip-Hop artist Tip T.I. Harris came to the Huston-Tillotson campus on Thursday, March 23rd, it wasn't to be in concert; instead, he was there to donate tablets to the students. The high-acclaimed music mogul was accompanied by Vernell Woods, CEO of Moolah Mobile. Students picked up their tablets between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. in the Davage-Darden Student Union.

"I am so pleased to have my friend, T.I., to help us bridge the technology gap that exists on our campus," said HT President Melva Williams. Williams and T.I. were featured in Forbes and Billboard magazines a few years ago for a course they taught on business and entrepreneurship.

The Atlanta, Georgia, native is one of the highest selling hip-hop artists of all time and is a pioneer of the hip-hop subgenre "trap music." The star of several television reality shows, he is also co-founder of A.K.O.O. Clothing, Grand Hustle, VisionMob, Club Crucial and V Live.
