Application Deadline: September 29, 2023, by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time

The All of Us Data Training and Engagement for Academic Libraries Program (hereafter referred to as the "Academic Libraries Program"), supported by the National Library of Medicine, aims to help campus libraries learn to use the All of Us Researcher Workbenchhttps://www.researchallofus.org/data-tools/workbench/ platform and equip them with the skills to teach others to use it.

The program provides professional development training, hands-on learning, peer-to-peer networking, and Researcher Workbench technical support. By participating, you can become a skilled user of biomedical and public health data. You may also help grow your institution's research capacity, enhance its skills in biomedical and public health data, and promote meaningful use of the Researcher Workbench with your campus community.

What are the All of Us Research Program and Researcher Workbench?

The National Institutes of Health's All of Us Research Program is a historic effort to collect and study data from at least one million people living in the United States. The goal of All of Us is to speed up health research discoveries, enabling new kinds of individualized health care. To make this possible, All of Us is building one of the world's largest and most diverse databases for health research. The Researcher Workbench is the secure, cloud-based platform that houses the All of Us dataset.

Why should my institution apply?

Your campus library is well situated to respond to the needs of academic institutions for data-driven research. By adopting the Researcher Workbenchhttps://www.researchallofus.org/data-tools/workbench/ on your campus, you may help grow your institution's research capacity. This could mean more research activity, publications, and grants. Institutions in the Academic Libraries Program are eligible for a Capacity Building Award of up to $40,000.

What institutions are eligible?

To be eligible, institutions must 1) be an accredited U.S. Institutionhttps://ope.ed.gov/dapip/#/home, 2) be a library within an institution with a historic and current commitment to, or track record of, educating underrepresented students (defined in Notice of NIH's Interest in Diversityhttps://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/notice-files/NOT-OD-20-031.html), and 3) have a Data Use and Registration Agreement (DURA)https://researchallofus.org/institutional-agreements/ in place with All of Us or be willing to establish one.
