Clark Atlanta University News July 10, 2019 Clark Atlanta University Awarded $1 Million from National Science Foundation ATLANTA, GA - July 9, 2019 - Clark Atlanta University today announced that Drs. Ishrat M. Khan, Xiao-Qian Wang, Conrad W. Ingram, Michael D. Williams, and private partner Dr. Ted Campbell at Excellatraon LLC, have been awarded a three-year award totaling $1,000,000 from the National Science Foundation (NSF). The award supports the project entitled "NSF RISE: Enhancement of Research and Education Infrastructure - Laboratory for Prototype Devices Based on Functional Materials." The award will allow CAU to increase its capacity for material science research, support three to four doctoral students per year, host a summer research program for undergraduate students, provide $125,000 in startup funding for new faculty in the chemistry department, and enhance CAU's partnership with Excellatron, a U.S.-based technology company and industry leader in revolutionary energy storage and manufacturing technology. Khan, Williams and Wang on another significant accomplishment to advance scientific research activities for our students and faculty in the department of chemistry, SAS and the University," said Conrad Ingram, Ph. D, interim department chair and professor of chemistry.
