Students win scholarships at National Association of Black Accountants fete
Juniors Fellan Ferguson and Francoise Ntakirutimana attended the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) 15th annual scholarship and awards reception, held at the Foundation for the Carolinas. It was an evening of networking and reward as the students worked the room, talking to industry leaders, sharing contacts and laying the foundation of professional relationships that could benefit them for years to come. NABA Southern Region President Jeannine Brown gave a passionate introduction regarding the purpose and value of the organization. She was followed by Matt Snow, CEO of Dixon Hughes Goodman Financial Services (DHG) , who in his keynote speech shared five life lessons learned at his first job that have applied to every position since throughout his  career.
Ferguson, who is majoring in Business Administration and Accounting, was awarded a scholarship sponsored by DHG. Ntakirutimana, a Business Administration major with concentrations in banking and finance and international business, with a minor in French, was awarded a scholarship sponsored by Wal-Mart.
