Dear Colleagues,
The HBCU Library Alliance is heavily focused on sustainability in this second decade of service to member libraries. I’m so pleased with the Alliance’s progress in strengthening members libraries and the many benefits of HBCU Library Alliance membership.
As you are aware, the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation funding that supports staff salaries ends on June 30, 2013. The Alliance must be positioned to support staff salaries and operating expenses as we approach funding agencies. At the October Membership Meeting, I mentioned the need to increase membership dues.
The Board needs your input, suggestions and concerns as we strategize and develop a new dues structure. Please hold Monday through Friday, January 7-11 open for a series of web-based Membership Forums. I’ll be back in touch with specifics.
Sincerely,
Mary Jo
