Hello to you all:

The HBCU LA Digital Initiatives Committee is in the process of establishing our digital preservation program as a member of the MetaArchive Cooperative to insure that we preserve digital collections in our HBCU Digital Library.  This program will insure that we protect  our digital images using a distributed digital preservation process known as the LOCKSS open source software.    As part of this initiative with MetaArchive, I would like to first survey our  HBCU libraries to determine if there are already  member libraries who are currently in  a digital preservation network that preserves your data either using a LOCKKS system or any other means.  Please respond to this email to let me know if you have a preservation option, separate from the Alliance, that you are currently using to protect your data/images.

Thanks for your response.
