Greetings Colleagues,

I trust you're well. Today I'm celebrating activist Mary Frances Berry. Born in Nashville Tennessee, Berry was a member of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights and an outspoken advocate of the Equal Rights Amendment. She became the first African American woman to head a major university when she served as chancellor of the University of Colorado at Boulder from 1976 to 1977. She taught there until 1980.

Expanding Library Support for Faculty Research in HBCUs Survey Results: View from Both Sides

In November 2013, the HBCU Library Alliance received grant funding from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation to support the assessment and strengthening of library services in support of faculty research. In partnership with the HBCU Faculty Development Network, the project aims to foster improved library services on individual HBCU campuses and develop collaborative approaches to community-wide support for faculty research.

Library directors were surveyed to understand capacity and identify library needs related to research support.  Faculty were surveyed to gather information to assist libraries in understanding their research interests, plans, challenges and support needs.

Join me on Tuesday, March 3rd, 3:00 ET for the live on-line presentation "View from Both Sides: Expanding Library Support for Faculty Research." The presentation will detail survey results and project activities to support faculty research.

Paste this link https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/NKW6PXL into your address bar by Tuesday, February 24th to register.

I look forward to sharing the results with you. Contact me directly if you have questions or need additional information.
