ANNUAL SCIENCE FAIR TRADITION CONTINUES

Jefferson City, MO- Middle and high school students from around central Missouri will take part in the 33rd Annual Regional Science and Engineering Fair and the 29th Annual Meeting of the Missouri Academy of Sciences (MAS) Junior Division later this month on the Lincoln University campus.  Students from six high schools and nine middle schools will gather on Friday, March 27 to present original research projects.  The competition will include poster and oral presentations by the student researchers.

The oral presentations will be held in Founders Hall from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The event is open to the public. Posters will be available for public viewing after the official judging from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. The middle school posters will be located in Scruggs University Center Ballroom.  High school posters will be displayed in Richardson Fine Arts Center.  Awards for the MAS competition will be presented at 5 p.m. in Room 340 Founders Hall.  The science fair awards presentation takes place at 7:30 p.m. in Richardson Fine Arts Center.

The Lincoln University Regional Science and Engineering Fair is a preliminary competition of the Intel(r) International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF).  The Lincoln University Department of Life and Physical Sciences will sponsor the top two high school finalists advancement to the ISEF, scheduled for May 10-15 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The winners from of the MAS competition will advance to the state meeting in St. Joseph, Missouri, April 17 through 18.
