Southern University Baton Rouge News January 25, 2022 Three finalists chosen in Southern University President-Chancellor Search The Southern University System President-Chancellor Search Committee today announced three finalists for the position of president of the Southern University System and chancellor of Southern University and A&M College. The decision was made after virtual interviews with five semi-finalists on Jan. 18 and Jan. 19. The three finalists are: * Laurence Alexander, chancellor of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff * Walter Kimbrough, president of Dillard University in New Orleans * Dennis Shields, chancellor of the University of Wisconsin Platteville This is a very important matter for the Southern University System and Southern University and A&M College," said Alfred Harrell, co-chair of the committee. "We are excited about moving forward with this process." The finalists will visit Southern's Baton Rouge campus on Feb. 1-3 for a series of meetings with stakeholders, including the Southern University System Board of Supervisors, employees, students, and alumni.
