Albany State University President acknowledged as 'Most Dominant HBCU Leader'

Albany State University President Marion Ross Fedrick, Ph.D., was named one of the ten most dominant HBCU (historically black colleges and universities) leaders in the nation.

The HBCU Campaign Fundhttps://hbcucampaignfund.org/2022/01/01/hcf-announces-the-national-ten-most-dominant-hbcu-leaders-of-2022/ (HCF) is a non profit that advocates for higher education within minority serving college institutions.

According to HCF's President & CEO, Demetrius Johnson Jr., winners were determined to be leaders who have "proven their responsibilities for shaping policies, changing perspectives, and making decisions that affect millions of individuals in the higher education space, and the daily needs of what an HBCU or Minority-Serving Institutions contributes."

President Fedrick became president for the university in October 2017.

Ever since, she has become an advocate for higher education administration, strategic planning, crisis management, and building partnerships between private and public sectors.

She plans to continue her effort to evoke change by instilling the importance of academic development within all of her students.
