Members,

The James B. Duke Memorial Library at Johnson C. Smith University in collaboration with Discovery Place Education Studio is hosting a  full-day maker event that will provide expert panel discussions with librarians, makers, and hackers as well as hands-on breakout sessions.  3D Printers and CNC devices will be on hand to demonstrate their processes, as well as previously cut examples of laser cut materials.

There will also be 15-20 minute "speed-sessions" with individual experts so you can address your own library/maker-specific questions and concerns (be sure to bring photos, illustrations, floor plans, or curriculum--whatever you think will enhance the discussion). There will be plenty of face time and networking opportunities throughout the day with colleagues.

This event is open to all librarians, library board or foundation members, alumni, community members, CMS teachers and librarians. Anyone interested in learning more about makerspaces is invited. If you are an vendor, maker or librarian and would like to speak about your work please contact Dr. Chantell McDowell cmcdowell@jcsu.edumailto:cmcdowell@jcsu.edu

Registration is open.
