Department:  Library

Duties:  Catalog, original and copy, library materials; knowledge of AACR2, LC Subject Headings, RDA, RFID and MARC formats; responsible for on-line cataloging using ALEPH standards and criteria; oversee the ordering of resources using YBP and GOBI; update holding records; train and supervise technical services staff; delegate and oversee technical aspects of cataloging activity; process materials;  accountable for the withdrawal of all library materials; review and approve if gift materials meet library standards for inclusion in the collection; prepare monthly and annual technical services reports; participates in professional organizations and attends continuing education workshops and meeting;  perform other job-related duties as requested.
Minimum Qualifications:  Master’s degree in library science from an ALA-accredited institution; Five (5) years of successful and progressive experience in one or more areas of library technical services, and five (5) years of experience in a management and supervisory role.
Requirements:  Knowledge of trends in the acquisition of information resources, cataloging and metadata, authority control, integrated library systems, link resolvers, and other computer-based library applications; ability to demonstrate strong service orientation, excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills; ability to organize; ability to use library and office computer applications; ability to communicate effectively.
