NEW ASSOCIATE VICE CHANCELLOR FOR ALUMNI AFFAIRS SELECTED
North Carolina A&T State University announced the selection of Rosetta Clay as the new associate vice chancellor for alumni affairs.
In this new role, Clay will also serve as the primary liaison and executive director to the North Carolina A&T State University National Alumni Association.
"Rosetta Clay has a proven track record of leadership in alumni programs. She will be a tremendous asset to the university as we strive to connect with our 40,000 alumni around the world," said Nicole Pride, chief of staff and interim vice chancellor for university advancement.
Clay will be responsible for expanding and strengthening alumni participation and establishing engagement opportunities and programs for alumni, volunteers and donors. As executive director to the alumni association, she will provide support to the board and strategies to increase membership, cultivation, recruitment and fundraising.
Clay served as the director of alumni programs at the University of Maryland Robert H. Smith School of Business from 2007 to 2014. While there, Clay developed and led strategic alumni relations initiatives for 50,000 alumni and was responsible for the successful implementation of programs designed for undergraduate alumni, engaging alumni volunteers in key markets and establishing regional alumni clubs. Prior to this role, Clay served as the business school's director of special events from 2005 to 2007.
She is an advisory board member of the Association of Business School Alumni Professionals, inaugural cohort member of UMD-Smith's leadership academy and a member of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.
Clay earned a master's degree in marketing management from Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School and a bachelor's degree in mass communications from Southern Illinois University.
