2014 PhD Pipeline Opportunity Program Summer Institute

Allen University Honor student - Shanese Addison (Atlanta, Ga.), attended the 2014 PhD Pipeline Opportunity Program Summer Institute held May 28 - June 12 at Duke University's Fuqua School of Business in Durham, North Carolina.

The Ph.D. Pipeline Opportunity Program "Ph.D. Pipeline" is supported by a grant from the US Department of Education's Fund for the Improvement of Post-Secondary Education to assist under-represented minorities to qualify for and to acquire doctoral degrees in business disciplines.

The PhD Pipeline Opportunity Program (P0P) is an innovative national collaboration of colleges and universities to help identify and mentor diverse undergraduate students to become business school faculty.

The PhD Pipeline helps students
*learn about the advantages of a career as a business school faculty member
*understand the academic steps necessary to prepare for a career in higher education teaching and research
*acquire a supportive network for curriculum preparation and success in applications to doctoral programs.

The value of the PhD Pipeline Opportunity Program is increasingly demonstrated by substantial interest from varied students, individual faculty and institutional officials across the US and beyond. PhD Pipeline Opportunity Program
Lucy J. Reuben, Professor of the Practice of Business Administration at Duke University's Fuqua School of Business, is the Director of the PhD Pipeline Opportunity Program.

According to Shanese "It was a great experience and a program and I have learned so much"!
