Professor Kenneth Green II to travel to London, England
Professor Kenneth Green II, Instructor of Music at Allen University, will attend the Conducting Masterclasses, Workshops and Coaching with Achim Holub in London, England in January 2015. He is one of twelve accepted to this program from around the world. Professor Green will conduct Beethoven's First and Third Symphonies with the London Classical Soloist, a world-class orchestra, and study conducting with Austrian conductor Achim Holub. The final concert and competition will be held January 3, 2015 at the historic St. John's Notting Hill Church.
Kenneth Green has been a member of the Allen University Music Department since 2007 and received the 2014 Excellence in Teaching Award from the South Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities, Inc. He has performed with numerous ensembles throughout the United States, including the Tucson Symphony Orchestra, Columbus Symphony Orchestra (IN), Charleston Symphony Orchestra, Long Bay Symphony Orchestra, and the Florence Symphony Orchestra. Mr. Green was a participant in the Bach-Handel Festival, Eastern Music Festival, Sewanee Music Festival, and the Piccolo Spoleto Festival. He performed for the College Band Directors National Association Conference in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic in Chicago, Illinois, Western International Band Clinic in Seattle, Washington, and at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. He is a member of the International Trumpet Guild and the National Honor Scholars Society. His principal teachers include Edmund Cord, Robert Nagel, Susan Rider and Adel Sanchez.
