CAU Selected for World's Largest Payments Technology Event

The Electronic Transactions Association (ETA) today announced that the FinTech Initiative of the Clark Atlanta University Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurial Development (CAU-CIED) has been selected as one of only four leading payments startup accelerators/ incubators to participate in TRANSACT on April 17-19 in Las Vegas, Nev.

TRANSACT is the world's largest payments technology event and attracts key decision-makers in financial technology (FinTech), which is a unique line of business that involves the design, development, creation, use, and maintenance of information systems for a range of financial transactions and related enterprises and their consumers.  The CAU-CIED recently launched its efforts in FinTech and is collaborating with Comcast NBCUniversal's The Farm in developing the initiative.

"The work that the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurial Development is doing is representative of the University's mission to produce the next generation of leaders in the innovation marketplace," said CAU's President Dr. Ronald A. Johnson. "We are pleased to be a part of this ground-breaking event that provides future idealists a platform to ignite limitless possibilities."

At TRANSACT, the CAU-CIED will lead a delegation that will consist of the following financial technology startup candidates from its program:

The CAU-CIED will join three other accelerators from around the country to participate in NextGen Park, a showcase making its debut at this year's TRANSACT.

NextGen Park will include space for the accelerators/incubators and their startups to host meetings, showcase their products, and network with more than 4,000 payments technology decision-makers.

"Startups have the power to significantly change and disrupt industries by bringing new and innovative products to market. Nowhere is this truer than in the payments industry," said ETA CEO Jason Oxman. "Many of the titans of today were the startups of yesterday. That's why we are focused on bringing leading incubators and their startups to center of the show floor at TRANSACT, where payments industry executives from industry leaders meet to chart a path towards the future."

TRANSACT, April 17-19, 2018, will bring together all parts of the payments ecosystem - from ISOs/VARs to ISVs and large financial institutions to technology companies, to meet, see what's new, and learn what it takes to grow. Through extensive networking events, education, and a robust exhibit hall filled with more than 200 companies, attendees will learn about groundbreaking technology, security trends, and policies affecting the industry.
