Robotics and Sensors Summer Camp Now is Open for Application

Robotics and Sensors Academic Program was established in the Computer Science Department, Southern University, Baton Rouge, Louisiana Campus with the expectation of attracting students to content domains such as mechanics, electrical circuits, and applied mathematical reasoning that all too often are stumbling blocks for high school students.

Robotics engages students in complex, strategic problem-solving and higher-order thinking with a set of skills that is a high priority for 21st-century education. What is more, this kind of problem-solving can be introduced in a gradual, self-motivated way, so high school students can experience satisfying achievements right away and can quickly move on to new challenges in a continuous progression toward greater levels of sophistication.

The summer program will take place on the Southern University Campus in the Department of Computer Science in Henry Thurman Hall.  Dates for the program will take place beginning June 3 through June 14, 2019, a two week, Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., consisting of students from the Baton Rouge and surrounding areas.
