AUC Woodruff Library Update
In May 2021, the family of late civil rights icons Joseph and Evelyn Lowery gifted a priceless collection of official and personal papers, photographs, writings, speeches, audio and video recordings, and other mementos to Morehouse College. Once processing is completed, the collection will be made accessible through the Archives Research Center of the Atlanta University Center Robert W. Woodruff Library.
The Joseph Echols and Evelyn Gibson Lowery Collection team is diligently working to process and make the Lowery Collection available to students, staff, and researchers. So far, the team has processed and digitized publications from the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC), audiovisual assets consisting of Joseph Lowery's speeches, sermons, and interviews, SCLC events, and various events sponsored by SCLC/WOMEN, and photographs of protests, SCLC & SCLC/WOMEN activities and other monumental events. Content is posted regularly in the AUC Woodruff Library's institutional repository, RADARhttps://radar.auctr.edu/.
