The HBCU Library Alliance would like to recognize the extraordinary contributions of two outstanding library professionals who have made a significant impact to their library organization.
The "Excellence in Librarianship Award" will serve to recognize two HBCU Library employees for their distinguished service and leadership in an HBCU Library. Awards will be given to one full-time librarian and one full-time paraprofessional.
Criteria
Demonstrated leadership in developing, implementing and fostering advances in library operations, services, and/or programs
Demonstrated excellence in customer service
Actively participates in University committees and works to infuse library services into the curriculum
Contribution has advanced the mission and vision of the Library and the University in the areas of teaching, learning, and research
Enhanced the user experience through creative applications of technology tools
Successfully marketed and promoted services to library users.
The Awards committee invites nominations for the award through August 30, 2014. Please submit the name, job title, contact information and a brief explanation of why the nominee should be considered for the award.
The 2014 Awards will be presented during the HBCU Library Alliance's 6th Membership Meeting in Atlanta, GA, October 26-28, 2014.
